BIO:
Parisa Daeijavad is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Calgary. Parisa has a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Engineering and a Master’s degree in IT/Multimedia Systems from Tehran University. During her M.Sc. studies in the DSP lab, she has carried out extensive research on Brain-Computer Interface and Human-Computer Interaction using machine learning methods to help people with disabilities be able to communicate better with their surroundings via typing and she co-authored a publication on brain speller for the Persian language. With experience in extended reality UI/UX design, currently, her research interests are in User Experience in Immersive Analytics, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications. Her research investigates developing evidence-based UX design guidelines for room-scale user interfaces in extended reality. Therefore, she aims to develop empirical evidence design guidelines for room-scale UIs in XR by running control experiments looking into specific aspects. She is currently the ASE Lab‘s research team member on the Extended Reality Innovations for Reservoir Engineering project. In her free time, she enjoys playing the violin, volleyball and roller skating. |
