Dr. Frank Maurer is the head of the Serious XR (SEER) Lab at the University of Calgary. His current research interests include
- Processes, techniques and tools for developing SerIous XR applications
- UX for XR
- Immersive analytics/immersive
His past research included work on agile software engineering, multi-surface system, and artificial intelligence/machine learning
The SEER lab research combines empirical approaches with the development of innovative tools and applications.
The SEER Lab closely collaborates with industrial and academic partners to ensure the relevance of the research. From 2010-2015, Frank was the PI of the NSERC Digital Surface Software Application Network (SurfNet).
Frank is also a co-founder and CTO at VizworX, and Associate Dean of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Science.
