Farzana Aktar is an Extended Reality (XR) researcher and believer in immersive realities changing the world. She is also an aspirant entrepreneur and innovation enthusiast in the field of XR technology. She is working on her master’s thesis on evaluating Virtual Reality no-code authoring solutions for education and training. She has also contributed to extended reality innovations for reservoir engineering workflows of Computer Modeling Group Limited through an industry-academia collaboration project. She is also collaborating with the Taylor Institute to form and serve an XR community of practice.
She did her bachelor’s in software engineering from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. Her undergrad thesis was on speech recognition techniques. She also worked on various projects involving image processing, machine learning approaches for bug feature extraction, and regression of time series data. Her interest lies in machine learning, data science, data visualization, and extended reality tools and platforms for education and training.
